Since 2001, Albert has played a crucial role in speaking up for the Island and promoting it on the National and International stage. He has been a strong advocate for the Energy Island initiative which aims to bring jobs and prosperity to the Island through Wylfa Newydd and tidal power initiatives off the coast.

Albert is currently campaigning hard for 100% broadband coverage on the Island, he is opposing the plan for new pylons, and fighting to keep rural banks open. He is also ensuring that Holyhead’s vital border link between the U.K. and the E.U. features as part of the Brexit negotiations.

Albert is a strong representative for local residents. He deals with over 300 enquiries from residents every week, helping to resolve their concerns. He also holds regular surgeries across the Island, call 01407 765750 to get an appointment.

In Westminster, Albert has served on the Welsh Affairs Committee and the Energy and Climate Change Committee. He is a member of the Speaker’s Panel of Chairs and is involved in several All-Party Groups related to energy, health and digital communications.

He has been an assiduous campaigner for a diverse energy mix, including nuclear and renewables, to serve Britain’s energy needs and has worked to ensure that his constituency, the Isle of Anglesey, is at the forefront of the 21st century energy challenge.
