Mae fy nheulu yn cyrraedd yn ôl llawer cenhedlaeth o hanes Caergybi. Dwi’n siwr bod nifer fawr ohonoch yn adnabod fy ngwraig, Carmel, sydd yn gweithio yn Ysbyty Penrhos Stanley.  Cafodd fy mhlant i gyd eu geni yn lleol a mynychu ysgolion lleol, fel mae fy wyrion a wyresau bellach. Fel teulu yr ydym wedi symud o gwmpas y dref gan fyw yn Richmond Hill, Waterside, Peibio, Treseifion, Morawelon a Llaingoch.

Mae’r undebau wedi bod yn rhan bwysig o’m mywyd gwaith. Ymunais â’r Undeb yn 15 oed pryd y cychwynais gwaith fel morwr masnachol ar y Cambria a’r Hibernia pan oeddent yn Heysham. Mi treuliais rhai blynyddoedd wedyn fel morwr ar y Môr Mawr.

Credaf bydd llawer ohonoch yn fy nghofio o Eaton Electric (MEM) lle ‘roeddwn yn Gynullydd Undeb.  Mi cynrychiolais gweithwyr ar lefel Lleol, Rhanbarthol, Cenedlaethol a Rhyngwladol am flynyddoedd maith.  Mi ydw i dal yn ymwneud â gwaith undeb hyd at y lefel genedlaethol a nawr yn Ysgrifennydd Cangen a Thrysorydd i gangen Gogledd Orllewin Cymru. ‘Rwyf hefyd wedi bod yn Ymddiriedolwr Pensiynau ar Gynllun Cyflog Terfynol.

Ers gadael Eaton, yr wyf wedi bod yn brysur fel athro addysg oedolion. ‘Roeddwn yn bennaeth am bedair blynedd ar Brosiect Llywodraeth Cymru ar sgiliau ar gyfer y sector ynni. Ar y foment rwy’n hyfforddi cynrychiolwyr newydd o sawl undeb ar gyrsiau Undeb Gwaith.

‘Rwyf wedi bod yn lywodraethwr Ysgol Uwchradd Caergybi ers 5 mlynedd.

Os gwnewch chi fy ethol fel eich Cynghorydd Sir mi ymdrechaf i’r eithaf i’ch cynrychioli. Ni fyddaf yn eich camarwain ar unrhyw fater. Byddaf yn mynychu pob cyfarfod Cyngor a byddaf ar gael yn wastad i wrando ar eich pryderon.

My family go back many generations in Holyhead. Some of you may know my wife Carmel who works at Ysbyty Penrhos Stanley. My children were all born locally and went to local schools, as my grandchildren do now. Over the years I have lived in many parts of Holyhead including Richmond Hill, Waterside, Peibio, Treseifion, Morawelon and Llaingoch.

I have been very active in the trade union movement all my working life.

I first joined a trade union at age of 15 when I started work as a merchant seaman. At first I was on the old mail boats, the Cambria and the Hibernia when they were in Heysham. After this I was many years 'deep sea' as an Able Seaman.

Some of you may remember me from Eaton Electric (formerly MEM) where I was Union Convener. There I represented workers at a local, Regional, National and European level for many years. I am still involved in Union business up to a National level and I am the Branch Secretary and Treasurer for the North West Wales branch, I have also been a Pensions Trustee on a Final Salary Scheme.

Since leaving Eaton I have been working in adult education. I headed up a Welsh Government Project for over 4 years, on skills for the Energy Sector. I currently tutor on Trade Union courses for different unions, training new reps.

I have served as a School Governor at Ysgol Uwchradd Caergybi for the last 5 years.

If elected I will serve you to the best of my ability. I won't make you false promises that I can't deliver on. I will attend meetings of the Council and I will always have an 'open door' policy to listen to the things that concern you.
