Mary Roberts

Mary Roberts Labour Ynys Môn Prospective Parliamentary Candidate
Because Anglesey Matters
I was born and brought up on Anglesey and attended local schools and am a fluent Welsh speaker. Like many young people, I had to leave the Island for work.
Through my work leading campaigns for two national charities, and my experience as the mother of two, I know how Conservative cuts are hitting families and communities hard.
That is why I want to become your new voice for our Island.
As your MP, I would fight for good quality jobs, for truly affordable housing and for real action to tackle the climate emergency. I will champion Labour’s radical, green and transformative programme so that all residents and communities on Ynys Môn, can prosper and have a better future. Both my parents were local GPs, and the NHS and social care are top priorities for me.
A Labour Government will transform Britain. We will:
- create a £10 minimum wage
- protect our NHS and invest in social care
- introduce a green new deal
- scrap tuition fees and make education affordable for all
- end homelessness and build affordable housing
I love Anglesey and care passionately about our future prosperity. At the forthcoming election, I hope you will choose me as the first woman to represent Anglesey in Parliament since Megan Lloyd George.
