A message from Albert Owen MP
It is a pleasure to endorse and support the local Labour party candidates standing in the local Council elections on May 4th.
Councils have an important role in providing local services. Under pressure from the prolonged cuts of the UK Government’s austerity measures, we need sensible measures to protect and enhance local services.
The local Labour ‘team’ is representative of the Island as a whole – its priorities on jobs, housing, youth services and social care are the priorities of the people of Ynys Môn. They will put the people First.
For decades Anglesey County Council have been singled out for the wrong reasons and put into special measures for its lack of direction and in-fighting. In the first 12 years as the Island’s MP, we have had some 8 Leaders, these included a Tory Leader, a Plaid Leader and several Independents – they put party and petty personality politics ahead of the interest of the people.
Since 2013 we have had more stability and focus. With just 2 Councillors, Labour hold senior roles to work a sensible approach and get the council back on track.
With your support by electing Labour Councillors across Anglesey, we can move forward working with a Labour Welsh Government in a sensible way, not back with Plaid and the Tories leading, but a fresh, open and honest Labour Group that puts the residents First.
I urge you to support and vote and give Labour a chance and give us a County Council that can work with others to get the best for the people who deserve it – YOU!
Vote Labour on May 4th.
