WHO AM I? Raised and schooled on Ynys Môn, I work as a self-employed structural engineer, and like many of my generation I live in rented accommodation.
I have always supported Labour because Labour supports the many – those who work hard and deserve better.
HOUSING Second home ownership and short-term holiday letting has increased dramatically over the pandemic. Availability of long-term affordable housing for the community has plummeted. The Council have not acted but I will campaign on behalf of local tenants.
LOCAL ECONOMY We have a wealth of skills and talent on Ynys Môn but not a wealth of opportunity. I will be campaigning for new community hubs and shared working spaces in Aethwy, whilst also keeping in touch with established businesses to ensure they can continue to thrive and create more jobs.
ENVIRONMENT The Welsh Labour Government is providing schemes for community owned renewable energy generation and, as a Welsh Labour councillor, I will work closely with them as funding becomes available. I will also promote active transport with the expansion of footpaths and cycle paths.
